INTRODUCTION

What is a Real Estate Agent?

A Real Estate Agent is a licensed professional who represents their buying or selling clients with their home or property. Typically Agents either take the role in the selling part of a home or property or the buying of a home or property. There is usually no set selling or buying agents, it just depends on whether their client is looking to buy a home or sell their home.

Real Estate Agents Salaries

Real Estate Agents have commission-based salaries meaning that their income is strictly based on their sales. Due to this, agents typically have a pretty flexible schedule and can work whenever they choose to.

SELLING AGENTS VS. BUYING AGENTS

Selling Agents

Selling Agents take part in listing their client's homes or properties to the MLS where they are listed for sale. Selling Agents also advertise the homes they are selling and contact any of their clients who they know may be looking for a home or property.

Buying Agents

Buying Agents help their clients purchase a home or property. They participate in more open houses and private home showings for their clients. Typically there are multiple buying agents in competition with other buying agents trying to be the one who can successfully get the home for their client. This is known as bidding wars- when multiple agents and their clients are putting in offers higher than each other in competition to win over the seller.
